How did the La Pieta Prayer Groups come to be?
It was October 1991 when Sol Gaviola found an icon of Pieta in a garage sale. She brought it home; cleaned it up and put it on our altar.
When the Lord came to me in November 1991, He said that I am going to carry a mission and He said it is already on the altar.
A good friend from Toronto, Ontario named Nonna received an inspiration to name our group "LA PIETA". The Lord came again and told me "My Father gave the name La Pieta to your group because you can see My sufferings. My people will open their eyes to see and open their ears to listen. La Pieta will spread all over the world."
Then the La Pieta icon went on a mission, the first time in December 1991. From then on, the icon of Pieta, together with the statues of Our Lady of Fatima, St. Anne, St. Joseph, St. Michael, Sto. Nino, St. Lorenzo Ruiz (the first Filipino Saint) went to different families, and stayed with them every two weeks. We had La Pieta prayers to follow which were inspired by the heavenly bodies who appeared to me.
Ever since the icon of Pieta has never come home because the mission and the messages continue to this very day.
When Jesus came to me, He said that my mission is for conversion of people and healings (spiritual, physical, emotional, financial). The most important healing that Goad will give is the healing of soul. Through the La Pieta prayer groups, this message of the Lord is being fulfilled.
God has given me many graces and blessings that I have to share with my brothers and sisters. One of them is to share peace, love and joy that come from God. To live in humility, littleness, simpleness, because Jesus said I will be able to fulfill the mission that God has given me through humility by imitating the Immaculate Heart of Mother Mary.
Jesus message is being fulfilled because the La Pieta prayer groups are spreading all over the world; sharing peace, love and joy to our brothers and sisters that we reach out.
May God bless you all. Amen.
